The popular streaming platform is experimenting with Netflix Fast Laughs, a stream of comedy clips hand-picked by Netflix, on its TV app. The feature allows you to sort through a variety Of funny short films from shows and movies on Netflix – each about 30 seconds or longer – in order to introduce you to new material or help you decide what to watch.
Scroll down on the Netflix homepage to find Fast Laughs, which you can access by clicking here. After that, click into the feature, where full-screen highlights from Army of the Dead, Big Mouth, Jerry Seinfeld’s comedy special, and more take over your screen. You can choose to go directly to the offered program or film by using the arrows on either side of the clip.
What is Netflix Fast Laughs?
Fast Laughs, like Netflix’s Play Something option, is curated by Netflix employees and does not offer a personalized experience. On the other hand, your Fast Laughs preferences may expose you to different material than Netflix’s highly entrenched recommendation system would typically suggest.
How does the Netflix algorithm work?
Last year, Netflix released Fast Laughs on its mobile software. Fast Laughs on mobile is different from the original TV version in that it appears in a vertical stream format similar to TikTok. It also offers choices on the right side of each clip, allowing you to share it, add the program to your List, and react with a “LOL” button (understandably so), making it more social than the TV version.
Fast Laugh, Netflix’s new interactive feature, is only available to adult profiles in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, and “other select English-speaking countries.” Only adult profiles have access to the function. To begin viewing the stream, you must first bypass a warning about content. It’s unclear how many people are part of the Fast Laughs TV test; as well as when (or if) it will be made available for all users.
