After several leaks, Nokia G21, HMD Global’s next smartphone, is finally here. The G21 is the successor to the Nokia G20, but it doesn’t appear to be similar because of its distinct appearance. In place of a round-shaped camera bump on the back, this phone features a rectangular one with rounded edges.
HMD Global is sticking to its word when it comes to regular updates, despite the fact that the design of the Nokia G21 may be a little bit on the weaker side. On the plus side, you get Android 11 out of the box, and you can upgrade it to Android 12 and 13 in future updates. There is no timetable for when that will happen yet.
The Nokia G21, HMD Global’s new Nokia model, will be introduced in European countries soon, but no information was provided about when it will be released in other markets, such as India. Since the Nokia G20 has already arrived in India, there is a good possibility that the Nokia G21 will follow suit.
Nokia G21 specs
The phone is a somewhat basic-looking phone from HMD Global, which makes it seem like a low-end device. Its 6.5-inch HD+ LCD is big enough to watch movies and shows on, especially since HMD has guaranteed Netflix HD streaming support. The brightness should be adequate for most applications, but the display’s 90Hz refresh rate would be the biggest upgrade. The phone will come with a Unisoc T606 processor and it should be capable of handling basic activities and some gaming, do not expect it to perform nicely when running high-graphics games though.
The Nokia G21 comes with 4GB RAM and two storage options, 64GB and 128GB. There’s also a microSD card slot, allowing you to add more data storage if you don’t think this is enough. The phone boasts of a 5052mAh battery with 18W quick-charging support.
The phone has a triple camera setup on the back offering a 50MP main camera, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. The camera also supports Super Resolution and Night Mode.
There are two versions of the phone, both models offer 4GB RAM but you can opt for either 64GB or 128GB storage capacity.
Nokia G21 price
The phone has a €170 (~$192) price tag and there are two color options you can choose from Nordic Blue and Dusk. The phone will be available soon, March, most likely.
