The following Lost Ark guide will answer any questions you may have about the game, as well as provide additional hints and tips that it does not make clear from the start. In South Korea, this MMO has been around for over two years, which means a lot of features that Korean players were introduced to gradually are now present. That’s why Lost Ark may seem like an explosion in the sub-menu factory, overflowing with new systems and references to endgame items you’ll only encounter at level 50.
Another significant difference between the Korean and western versions of the Lost Ark is the deletion of class prologues. These customized tutorials began by taking players from level 0 to level 10 before allowing them to choose an advanced class and join other players in Prideholme, but these unique training sessions have now been replaced with a shorter prologue common to every class.
Lost Ark: Tips & tricks
This western version of the game includes a new feature called the Welcome Challenge. It’s another menu, but it combines lists of challenges that guide you through the basics. Check it on a regular basis to see which ones you’ve completed and get your trophies, which include silver coins, HP potions, and other goodies.
1. Use healing potions and save HP potions
Use healing potions instead of HP potions if you’re wounded. They’re the ones that heal a specific number of points over time and are bound to F1 by default. The more vital HP potions heal a percentage of your overall health at once. This means that HP potions are still useful at high levels, whereas apprentice healing potions will become worthless once you have passed a certain level in the game.
So, if the label says “healing potion,” drink it up and save the HP potions for later. It would be a lot easier if these two kinds of potions had distinctive names, right?
2. UI settings
The Lost Ark’s interface takes up more screen space than it needs to, like most MMOs. While you may minimize individual components such as goodbye, global chat, etc.
There’s a setting under Video Settings to change the HUD size if your eyesight permits. It’s true that lowering the amount to 80% is beneficial. To hide the UI, I recommend using the alt-X key combination, which also hides certain components. To get rid of the minimap, questlog, and main menu, press it once; to conceal everything but the essentials such as hotbars, health, and mana, press it twice. Press on it a third time in order to remove everything.
Finally, by pressing tab, you may move the overlay map to the side and simply middle-click and drag it as desired.
3. Skill point distribution
Every time you level up, you may distribute skill points between your skills. If you’re used to games that restrict respecs, you might be tempted to save them until you’ve chosen a build, but in Lost Ark, you can transfer skill points at any time without cost.
Press K to open the skill menu, then use the plus and minus signs next to each skill to add or remove points. Each point improves the efficiency of an ability, and you may choose between ‘tripod’ alternatives for each skill at tiers of 4, 20, and 48 points. These alternatives will be used to add different special effects like push, knockdown, range increase, and more.
Take some time to look over the skill’s Attack Type. Some skills are more powerful if utilized from the front or rear, while others counter boss assaults.
4. Name and appearance
It’s more difficult to change your appearance or name than it is to improve your skills. The Appearance Customization Ticket and Character Name Change Ticket are premium goods available for 800 and 1,500 royal crystals in the shop. Before you choose a meme name, consider a second time.
5. Pass dialogues with G key
The tasks you complete on your way to level 50 aren’t especially interesting, and neither is the questgiver’s dialogue. You’ll be pressing G line after line to get through a lot of blather as characters instruct you on where to go kill some brigands, discover a monolith, etc. While the story may drag a bit, the combat is solid, castle sieges are exciting, later dungeons offer plenty of loot, and the endgame is intricate in a funny way.
6. Pets offer advantages
Pets in Lost Ark will assist you by picking up loot for you and offering minor combat assistance. Pets also allow you to access menus such as storage, repair, and the market while out of town if you have a crystalline aura active. You can acquire your first pet by completing the Learning About Pets quest in Prideholme. It will occur after a cinematic where you awaken in the inn.
There’s a setting in the settings menu to pets’ visibility off. You can even make sure that your own unique little guy is visible while hiding everyone else’s pets.
7. Do dungeons in normal difficulty
While there is little difficulty in the early portions of Lost Ark, raising the degree of dungeons isn’t really worth it. Though the loot you obtain is somewhat greater, the xp rewards are not much different.
You’ll be wanting to level up as quickly as you can to access to the excellent stuff in Lost Ark. When you’re leveling, race through dungeons on easy by yourself to get them out of the way. You may always return and do them with friends at a later date.
8. Fast-travel
After you’ve unlocked triports, you’ll be able to return to each one for a little silver coin fee in Lost Ark. There will be no cost if you have a crystalline aura active.
However, you don’t have to be in a triport to utilize this technique. You may fast-travel at any time by clicking a triport on the world map, either on the list at the bottom left or right side of the screen. It’s also possible to alt-click on the overlay map.
9. Each class has a unique musical instrument
You may play music to access fast-travel, flee from dungeons, and impress particular NPCs. Songs are unlocked at a slow rate throughout the game, but they’re always performed on your default instrument. If you’re having difficulty selecting between Lost Ark classes, it might be helpful to consider whether you prefer one class’s sound to another:
- Gunners have electric guitars.
- Martial artists have lutes.
- Warriors have war horns.
- Assassins have flutes.
- Mages have pan flutes.
