The Academy Awards are back for another year, during which the best films released in 2021 will be honored. The Power of the Dog, King Richard, and West Side Story appear to be frontrunners in the best picture competition, with a tiny chance for crowd favorite Don’t Look Up.
Nightmare Alley, Belfast, Licorice Pizza and Drive My Car were able to gain multiple Oscar nominations in 2022. When it comes to best actor awards, Paul Thomas Anderson, Kenneth Branagh, Jane Campion, Steven Spielberg and Ryûsuke Hamaguchi have a good shot.
Oscar Awards are known for their high-tech enthusiasm, and this year’s edition is no exception. movies including Dune, Cruella, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and No Time to Die have been nominated in the technical categories of costumes and special effects. In music categories, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Billie Eilish, Hans Zimmer, and Jonny Greenwood are among the people competing.
On Sunday, March 27, at 5 p.m. PT (8 p.m. ET), the 2022 Oscars ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC. The 94th Academy Awards show may differ from last year’s opinion-splitting intimate event in a few ways: There will be a host this year (we don’t know who it’ll be yet), and new producers have taken over production duties. Streaming services like Netflix, Apple TV Plus, and Amazon Prime Video will certainly be involved in the competition, especially because the pandemic has disrupted many scheduled theatrical releases. The list of nominees was revealed Tuesday by Leslie Jordan, Tracee Ellis Ross, and a variety of healthcare workers, schoolkids, and other regular folks. The following is a list of Oscar nominations for 2022.
