WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton will step in as interim CEO of Signal
Signal, a popular encrypted messaging app, first debuted in 2015 and has since grown to be one of the most widely used.
“People increasingly find value and peace of mind in Signal (technology built for them instead of for their data), and are increasingly willing to sustain it… Every day, I’m struck by how boundless Signal’s potential looks, and I want to bring in someone with fresh energy and commitment to make the most of that”

It is not clear who will replace him as one of the world’s most valuable communications service, but WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton will step in as interim CEO. Marlinspike said he would remain on Signal’s board and seek for a new CEO, but WhatsApp’s founder Brian Acton will take over as interim chief.
