How to change the lock screen wallpaper on Xiaomi?

In this article, we’ll explain How to change the lock screen wallpaper on Xiaomi or Redmi.

Xiaomi has one of the most customizable Android interfaces, which is MIUI. And is that, among so many options that this has to give the personality we want to our mobile, allows you to change the lock screen background easily, something that does not affect the home screen background, so you can have different wallpapers for each screen, and then we explain how.

First of all, you don’t need to download any third-party app to change the lock screen wallpaper on Xiaomi. This can be done through the very settings of the mobile, but best of all, it can be done easily and quickly. All you have to do is follow the steps below.

How to change the lock screen wallpaper on Xiaomi?

The wallpaper on a Xiaomi or Redmi can be changed in two different ways. Both are very similar, but we start by explaining the first one:

  • With the phone unlocked and on the home screen, long-press anywhere empty on the home screen for about two seconds. This will bring up the customization settings for wallpapers, widgets, and more.
  • Then tap on the Wallpaper button, which is the one located at the bottom left corner of the screen.
  • Next, the Xiaomi themes and wallpapers store will open. There you can search and choose from thousands of wallpapers. Just choose the one you like the most or start a search for the one you want first and then click on it.
  • Then wait for the wallpaper to load and click on the Apply button.
  • Finally, a menu will be displayed from the bottom of the screen, in which there are three options, which are set as the lock screen, Set as home screen, and Both. As what we are interested in is changing the lock screen background, we press on the first button. If you want the wallpaper to be applied to the home screen as well, click on Both.

Choose a photo or image from the gallery

If you want to choose an image or photo from your gallery as your lock screen wallpaper, follow the steps below:

  • Enter your Xiaomi’s gallery and open the photo or image of your choice.
  • Then tap on the three dots button located at the bottom left corner of the screen, which is the options button.
  • Then click on the Set as wallpaper button.
  • A preview of the selected image will be displayed. There you should click on the Apply button.
  • Finally, you have to choose the Set as lock screen option that appears in the menu displayed from below, without further ado. If you want the lock screen background to be also the startup background, click on Both.

On the other hand, you can also change the lock screen wallpaper on Xiaomi and Redmi by accessing directly the Themes application and clicking on the second bottom button from right to left that is in the bottom bar of the interface. There you can search and choose wallpapers of all kinds, from the most abstract to the most realistic and animated.
