The stars of CES 2022 are being electric car concepts and Chevrolet (General Motors) revealed Silverado EV truck and Chevrolet Equinox EV today.
The most affordable Tesla you can purchase right now costs $44,990 (£42,990) before incentives or discounts, which includes the entry-level RWD (rear-wheel drive) Model 3 with a range of around 272 miles EPA (305 miles WLTP for customers in Europe).
Chevrolet Equinox EV might compete with Tesla cars
GM (General Motors) made several significant statements at CES 2022, including its new 2024 Silverado EV truck, which might not be a threat to Tesla’s offers, but the brand new Chevrolet Equinox EV might be a real headache for Musk’s company.
Competitors are releasing more affordable electric cars that are just as competitive on the road, making it tougher for Tesla to justify its costs for its current range of electric cars.
Chevrolet Equinox EV concept is introduced at CES 2022
Chevrolet Equinox EV will be on the roads starting fall 2023 and the company says it will cost “around $30,000 in the US.”
However, because of the increasing demand from consumers and a rising number of manufacturers entering the market, Tesla’s monopoly is gradually dissipating.
Tesla is still attempting to position itself as a premium brand, but after stepping into an Audi or Mercedes EV, the difference in quality is obvious.
