Samsung reveals a 55-inch curved 4K gaming monitor called Odyssey Ark at CES 2022 and it comes with the option to turn it into a vertical orientation. It is not anticipated to arrive until the second half of 2022, which gives Samsung a lot of time to provide some key information.

Samsung didn’t provide any details about the monitor’s panel or price yet. But why do we need a vertical orientation which Samsung calls a cockpit-style view?

Lately, we’ve learned about the company’s new smart monitor, Samsung M8 and it can provide smart TV-like capabilities, such as access to streaming apps, in addition to being able to connect to a PC.

With the Ark, it’s clear that Samsung is targeting two important groups: creators and gamers. Accountants and administrative assistants, for example, may also benefit from the experience that the Ark will provide.

The Ark is the new industry-leading gaming display with a curved 55-inch display and 16:9 aspect ratio,” said Samsung. “Multiview options allow users to adjust Odyssey Ark exactly how they want it with a totally adaptable screen size to fit the game or the program without compromising its 4K display and bright, colorful images,” they added.
