At CES 2022, the Vision EQXX was unveiled virtually, Mercedes chose to not attend the event in person due to concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic. The car will be on the roads for tests this spring, according to the manufacturer. During the event, the firm praised the concept car’s design and battery efficiency. EQXX might be the most-efficient electric car concept Mercedes ever produced, it will have an energy consumption of less than 10 kWh per 100 kilometers or six miles per kWh.
The EQXX comes equipped with a huge AI-powered 47.5-inch touch screen onto the dashboard in order to give the best suggestions while driving down the highway.
According to Mercedes, it is collaborating with NAVIS Automotive Systems to create “the first real-time 3D navigation system” for a touchscreen this big. The system will allow “seamless zoom and scroll functions from satellite view down to a height of 10 meters in the 3D city representation” when it’s implemented, according to the company.
The EQXX is a unique electric vehicle (EV) using 117 solar panels on its roof to provide up to 15 miles of range in ideal light and temperature conditions.
“The Mercedes-Benz VISION EQXX is how we imagine the future of electric cars,” Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Kaellenius stated.
