Samsung is adding to its line of smart monitors with the 4K 32-inch M8. This new one, like the models that are currently available, can provide smart TV-like capabilities, such as access to streaming apps, in addition to being able to connect to a PC. Samsung has yet to announce a release date or price for the monitor, but early details suggest the M8 will be more useful to a wider range of consumers than its predecessors.

Samsung’s new smart monitor: M8

The new Samsung TV is 11.4mm-thick, which Samsung claims is significantly thinner than previous versions. The company’s magnetic and movable SlimFit camera may be attached to the screen for video chats, which is one of the most remarkable features. The monitor includes a built-in camera that supports video chat applications such as Google Duo. You must provide your own webcam with Samsung’s other smart monitors.

Samsung’s also adding a SmartThings IoT Hub to the M8, allowing you to monitor and control your smart devices right from the smart display. Samsung claims that the M8 includes a new function called Workspace, which gathers work-related online services like Microsoft 365 into an easy-to-navigate interface.

The new features include Game Home, which transforms the M8 into a cloud gaming streaming display. Users will be able to use the M8 to stream games from game streaming services, and they’ll even be able to connect wireless controllers to it, according to Samsung.

Although Samsung hasn’t revealed all of the ports on the M8, it did confirm that it has a USB-C port that can handle 65W charging passthrough. Nor has it mentioned a price or release date.
