Some MIUI 13 privacy features are revealed. Xiaomi’s official Weibo account yesterday continued its barrage of teasers for MIUI 13. It said the upcoming software skin upgrade will be paired with a “Privacy Security Goalkeeper” and a system-level anti-fraud feature.
Part of the new feature’s scope is supposed to be protection against telecom fraud. This is usually done through the abuse of telecommunications products and services with the intention of stealing money from customers and/or their communications providers. It’s usually done through sending text messages with links to web pages designed to steal your data, or through restricting access to outbound calls. Privacy Goalkeeper is one of the features that is supposedly going to help with this.
MIUI 13 will launch on December 28th with Xiaomi 12
MIUI has ‘matured’ recently and isn’t going big on feature additions and UI changes like it did with some earlier releases. Instead, the focus of this year is once again on improving performance, stability, and security. Judging from some leaked screenshots and videos, the update seems to be lacking any major changes to the UI. The main highlight appears to be enhanced widget support, with several system apps getting new iOS-style widgets, complete with cool opening/closing animations.
The most important thing about MIUI 13 is it will bring an amazing amount of system fluency to your life. Apart from this, the latest teasers promise improved liquid storage and atomic memory which should result in much faster read and write times.
