Xiaomi confirmed at the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 revelation earlier this month that it will launch the Xiaomi 12 series, with the base model purportedly appearing via leaked renderings.
Xiaomi’s December 28th Weibo post states that the Xiaomi 12 will be a “small-sized” flagship, and the Xiaomi 12 Pro is an “all-around” flagship.
Xiaomi’s attached invite poster gives us a look at the two smartphones as well, showing a notable size difference between the devices. You can view the poster below.
Xiaomi 12: Expected specs
We don’t know if the new Mi phone will have an OLED display, but we do know that it will likely sport a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. We also expect to see a wired charging port and 120Hz displays. The only difference between the vanilla and Pro models is the camera module.
This isn’t the only news to come out of the MIUI Weibo account on this day though, as the MIUI Weibo account name-dropped the MIUI 13 update while co-founder Lei Jun mentioned the update alongside the Xiaomi 12 series as well. MIUI updates in the last few years have been buggy affairs on some phones, but the post specifically mentions a focus on speed and stability.
