Polygon-based NFT market Vulcan Forged has reportedly suffered a major wallet hack.
Vulcan Forged hacked: $140 million worth PYR stolen from users’ wallets
Vulcan Forged team told that approximately more than 4.5 million PYR tokens, worth over $140 million, were stolen from their customers’ wallets.
Vulcan Forged is a platform offering several blockchain games like Berserk, Vulcan Verse, Forge Arena, BlockBabies, and Vulcan Chess. It gives its users a digital wallet service called MyForge. This enables users to manage and trade tokens on the platform.
According to the team, 96 wallets were suffered from the hack. The attacker stole 4.5 million PYRs, or about 23 percent of the total number of tokens in circulation, then sold them on various crypto exchanges.
The team took responsibility for the event and promised to reimburse all tokens from the treasury:
For those that lost other assets too, including ETH, MATIC, as this was ultimately our responsibility we will also reimburse those assets in the equivalent of PYR.

According to the team, affected wallets were “semi-custodial,” which is why Vulcan Forged is “removing the semi custodial solution from the entire Vulcan ecosystem.”
We will send emails out to all Vulcan wallets affected today to get a metamask address from you.
We’ll replace your PYR and LAVA from our treasury.
We are removing the semi custodial solution from the entire Vulcan ecosystem.
Please give us today to get our heads around this.
