Andy Warhol is one of the most famous artists in the world and some remarkable artworks created by him are going to become NFTs.
Thursday Barron’s report says that “at least three works by Warhol will be sold as NFTs starting on Dec. 4 through the Budja.io site.”
How much for Andy Warhol NFTs?
NFTs will be hosted on Cardano, a proof-of-stake blockchain platform.
- Campbell Soup silk-screen on a T-shirt from 1982 is the first artwork to be sold for $125,000.
- An “Art” T-shirt from 1980 is the second piece, priced at $95,000.
- A silk-screen of a Volkswagen Beetle on a canvas from 1977 will be sold for $600,000.
Rudolf Budja, the gallery owner said that: “We’re creating tokens that represent real art. We want to make an NFT for every art piece.”
Each NFT token represents a fractional share of the art piece in question. Each is worth 1/1000 of the piece. Budja is selling only 499 tokens for each artwork in order to keep a majority stake in the company.
The ownership of the one thousandth of the Campbell Soup is valued at 85 Cardano; the “Art” T-shirt at 65 Cardano; and the Volkswagen silk-screen at 415 Cardano (around $150, $114 and $727 respectively).
