How to configure or disable AutoPlay on Windows 11?
It is really easy configuring or disabling AutoPlay on Windows 11, just follow these steps on your Windows 11 PC:
- Open the Windows Settings.
- If you don’t know how, you can just hit the Windows+i hotkey or you can right-click on the Start icon and choose “Settings” from the menu that appears.
- Next, click on “Bluetooth & Devices” and choose “AutoPlay.”
- In this settings menu, it is possible to change how AutoPlay works. You have the option to disable it too.

- Ask Me Every Time: If you choose this option Windows will ask you how to handle the drive every time you insert a device.
Select the option you prefer.
- Below “Removable Drive,” you are going to see the “Memory Card” menu. When you click on that menu, you’ll be prompted with different options:
- Import Photos and Videos (Photos): This option copies and imports media that is stored on the memory card to Windows 11 Photos file.
- Import Photos and Videos (OneDrive): This option copies and imports media that is stored on the memory card to OneDrive cloud.
- Play (Windows Media Player): This option plays media that is stored on the memory card in the Windows Media Player application.
- Take No Action: If you choose this option, when you insert a drive, AutoPlay won’t come up, but you will be able to find it in File Explorer.
