Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey is expected to step down from his executive role, according to sources to CNBC’s David Faber.
If Jack Dorsey resign who will replace him?
It’s unclear who’ll succeed Dorsey as CEO of Twitter, but if he steps down, the next CEO must hit Twitter’s aggressive goals. The company said earlier this year it aims to have over 300 million DAUs by the end of 2023 and to at least double its annual revenue in that year.
The ouster of Jack Dorsey last year was a result of an ongoing battle between Elliott Management, which owned about 10 percent of the stock in Twitter, and the company’s board and management. The investment firm tried to force out CEO Jack Dorsey.
Dorsey, who founded the social media giant Twitter, served as CEO until 2008 before being pushed out of the role. He returned to Twitter as a boss in 2015 after former CEO Dick Costolo stepped down.
