Niantic, the company behind Pokemon Go’s augmented reality (AR) game, has teamed up with Fold to release a Bitcoin-hunting AR game.
The two firms will debut Fold AR on November 23. According to a Tuesday Decrypt report, players will hunt Bitcoin and other prizes in the wild with their phones due to AR technology in the game.

Players will be able to earn satoshis, the tiniest possible form of Bitcoin, but also spins that would allow them to gain more. The rewards will be shown on screen in the form of 3D coins and other items placed in realistic settings.
The Fold CEO also said that in the future “you will be able to find actual collectibles in the Fold AR experience that endow holders with special privileges, increased earning opportunities, and benefits as well, such as a permanent increase in rewards.”
Rewards and bonuses for Fold Visa debit cardholders
Fold Visa debit cardholders will also have access to new rewards and bonuses.
Fold has stated that it has over a quarter-million users by 2021, with half a billion transactions having taken place through the app’s spend and deposit capabilities.
