The play-ins portion of the event will begin in Mexico City (the Liga Latinoamerica competition arena) before moving on to New York, where the group stage and quarterfinals will occur (Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden), Toronto, where semifinals will take place (Scotiabank Arena), and San Francisco, where finals will conclude.
2022 World Championship in “League of Legends” will be a multi-city event
The 2021 edition of the World Esports Championship just concluded in Reykjavik, Iceland, after being scheduled to take place in Shenzhen, China. The month-long tournament was held without spectators since underdogs Edward Gaming beat DWG KIA, however, Riot appears to believe that will change in 2022, given its desire to stage matches at large NBA stadiums.
“We’re thrilled to bring the full scale of our global sport back to North America, and, COVID permitting, welcome fans into the stands across three countries and four different cities,”
