How to activate Bluetooth on Windows 11?

If you don’t know how to activate Bluetooth on Windows 11, we are going to help you out. Bluetooth makes it easy to connect peripheral devices like keyboards, controllers, headsets, and more to your Windows 11 PC.

There are two different paths you can take to activate Bluetooth, we are going to detail them below.

How to activate Bluetooth on Windows 11?

Activate Bluetooth using the Quick Settings menu

Windows 11’s Quick Settings menu is the quickest method to turn on Bluetooth. You should see a Bluetooth icon next to the time and date in your taskbar. It looks like a “B” letter. When you click the button, it will change color and Bluetooth will be activated. Right-click the Bluetooth button and choose “Go to Settings” to establish a connection.

Activate Bluetooth from Windows Settings

You can also activate Bluetooth by going into Windows Settings. Just follow these steps:

  • Open the Windows Settings.
  • If you don’t know how, you can just hit the Windows+i hotkey or you can right-click on the Start icon and choose “Settings” from the menu that appears.
  • Then choose “Bluetooth & Devices” from the sidebar.
  • You should see a switch next to “Bluetooth,” turn it on.

That’s it! Bluetooth is activated now.

Add a new Bluetooth device to Windows 11

Now it’s time to connect a Bluetooth device to your Windows 11 PC. Follow these steps:

  • Open the Windows Settings.
  • If you don’t know how, you can just hit the Windows+i hotkey or you can right-click on the Start icon and choose “Settings” from the menu that appears.
  • Now select “Bluetooth & Devices” from the sidebar.
  • You will see an “Add Device” button with a plus icon on it. Click on that.
  • Now you should click on “Bluetooth.”

  • Your peripheral must be active and in pairing mode.
  • Windows will look for Bluetooth devices, if your device is in pairing mode, it should appear on the list. Click on its name.
  • Most of the devices connect automatically, if it’s a keyboard, Windows might ask for a verification code, it will be prompted on your screen, type it in.
  • You’ll see a message saying “Your device is ready to go.”
  • Click “Done.”
  • Close Settings.
