Facebook is testing some new features, the social media platform might give users more control over what they view on the site.
Facebook might provide all users with more control over News Feed soon
Facebook makes this test available first for English-speaking users. In the testing phase, the platform offers three new sub-menus for friends and family, groups and public figures. Using these menus users can configure what appears on the News Feed and they have the option of maintaining or adjusting the ratio of those items in their feed, depending on their choices.
Facebook stated in a blog post: “We’ll begin testing in countries around the world to a small percentage of people, gradually expanding in the coming weeks.”
Facebook is also providing advertisers and businesses with these new Topic Exclusion features. Advertisers are able to “select three topics – News and Politics, Social Issues, and Crime & Tragedy.”
