Apple is aiming to bring out its electric car by 2025, and it’s refocusing the effort around full self-driving capabilities, according to Bloomberg’s report.
Following the news, Apple’s stock increased by almost 3%. The ideal car Apple is trying to manufacture features no steering wheel or pedals. The report says, the company wants to offer a full hands-off driving experience.
Apple has been working on its self-driving electric car since 2014
Apple first began to show its intentions to design a vehicle from the ground up with Project Titan in 2014, since then its automobile efforts have gone through several setbacks.
Electric cars have seen a tremendous increase in demand as nations and consumers become more environmentally aware. This resulted in Tesla Inc. and Rivian Inc.’s market values increasing far above traditional carmakers.
Even with the recent developments, according to the Bloomberg article, some employees involved in the project were hesitant about the timetable, even though progress has been made on the car’s underpinnings (self-driving system, processor chips, and advanced sensors). Apple has not responded.
