Snapchat has now teamed up with Sony Music Entertainment to offer even more music choices in the form of a new partnership.
Snapchat is adding more popular songs to users’ stories, as a result of the new agreement. This will provide them even more innovative possibilities and additional methods for musicians to earn direct promotional value in the app.
Snapchat’s music clips
Snapchat’s music clips feature was first introduced last October, and it has been gradually expanded since then, most recently with the addition of audio excerpts from a number of NBC Universal TV shows and movies as part of a new agreement.
Snapchat is conducting similar tests with Sound Lenses, which are pre-selected songs that have been dubbed inside the Lens.
“The Lens transforms pictures of anyone to appear as if they are singing a song, while Cameo Sound Lenses will apply visual effects to put you and a friend as the stars of your own animated music video.”
With a vibrant audience hungry for new and inventive ways to use the platform, it makes perfect sense for Snap to partner with TikTok and offers more engaging music-related choices in order to capitalize on rising usage trends.
Snap has excelled in the past at something that Snap tends to do well. While Facebook has struggled to create viral, trend-setting AR tools due to its greater capacity, despite having more opportunities, Snapchat has consistently been able to attract more attention and acquire additional users for its app by developing innovative, engaging Lenses and settings that help it retain its dominance as the preferred app among many younger people.
These new Lens types will be helpful in this regard, but as was stated, increasing the amount of music used with the feature is an essential method for Snap to keep in touch with more people.
