Apple has now released the first developer beta of iOS 15.2, which includes privacy-related changes, following the release of iOS 15.1 earlier this week. The update also adds a reworked Notification Summary on the iPhone and iPad lock screen.
iOS 15.2 beta include a redesigned Notification Summary
Here’s how Apple describes the Notification Summary feature:
“Receive a helpful collection of your notifications delivered daily, in the morning and evening, or scheduled at a time you choose. The summary is intelligently ordered by priority, with the most relevant notifications at the top, so you can quickly catch up.”
For comparison, here’s what Notification Summary looks like in previous versions of iOS 15:
After the debut of iOS 10, Apple implemented a major emphasis on improving notifications in iOS 15. In addition to the existing Notification Summary, which focuses on providing information about all of your applications, iOS 15 includes a new Focus mode, redrawn banners, Time Sensitive alerts, and more.
There’s also a new App Privacy Report in iOS 15.2, which is accessible from the Settings app. Users can now see information accessed by applications, including third-party apps and Apple apps, in the iOS Settings app. At present, only developers have access to iOS 15.2, and it’s uncertain when it will be made available to the general public.
