Google finally revealed everything about its new flagship Android 12 smartphones, Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, on Tuesday. Because there are significant differences in this version instead of just screen size, the bigger model has been renamed from “XL” to “Pro.”

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro specs

The Pixel 6 will offer a 6.4-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate and two cameras on the back, whereas the Pixel 6 Pro has a triple-camera setup and a 6.7-inch screen with adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. Both devices will offer an in-display fingerprint reader for added security.

The Pixel 6 comes with three color options, the company calls them stormy black, kinda coral, and sorta seafoam whereas, the Pixel 6 Pro comes with sorta sunny, cloudy white and stormy black color options. A more polished finish on the Pro and a matte finish on the 6 are among the distinctions between these two phones when it comes to design.

Google will no longer use Qualcomm Snapdragon processors on Pixel models.

Both phones will run on Android 12 with Material You UI which offers further customization options for users.

Google will no longer use Qualcomm Snapdragon processors on Pixel models instead they have developed a new chip called Tensor. This processor is supported by Google’s AI and machine learning tools to offer a lot of new features. According to Google, the Pixel 6 will provide up to 80% faster performance than the Pixel 5.

“Face Unblur,” for example, is a new feature found in the Pixel 6 series that make people’s faces less blurry.

According to Google and thanks to Tensor, Pixel 6’s adaptive battery is said to last at least 24 hours per charge, with an “Extreme Battery Saver” option claimed to extend that life up to 48 hours.

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro price and release date

These phones will be sold for a little bit cheaper than its flagship rivals. The Pixel 6 is priced at $599, whereas the Pixel 6 Pro costs $899. The base model will have 8GB RAM and users will be able to choose between 128GB or 256GB storage capacity options. The RAM is increased to 12GB on the Pixel 6 Pro, and there’s a version with 512TB storage as well. Pre-orders are now open for both models and shipments will begin on October 28.
