A few days ago, people on the internet flocked to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction with Facebook’s services, including Instagram and WhatsApp, being down.
Instagram Activity Feed
After examining a number of accounts and complaints about the outage, the firm wants to let you know that there will be further outages in the future. For that, Instagram is testing a feature that displays information about a technical issue or service outage in your Activity Feed.
Furthermore, when the problem is fixed, the firm will notify you via email so that you know everything is back to normal.
Instagram said it doesn’t want to send bother you every time there’s an issue:
“We won’t send a notification every single time there is an outage, but when we see that people are confused and looking for answers, we’ll determine if something like this could help make things clearer.”
The company is currently experimenting with this feature in the United States, and it may subsequently be expanded worldwide.
Instagram is also rolling out Account Status
Along with this notification, Instagram is also rolling out Account Status. It’s a new tool that informs users about reported material and postings. The hub will also notify you if you’ve broken any of the social network’s rules, as well as whether your account is at risk of being shut down. You can read more about this new tool here.
