Lately, Twitter has been releasing a lot of new tools. Those who use Twitter for professional purposes might find this new addition very interesting. Soon, enterprises and creators will be able to use “professional accounts,” which would provide them with new features to customize their profile, advertise with more tools, and profit from Twitter’s planned e-commerce initiatives.
Although Twitter has provided monetization options for community members, it does not yet offer special profile types for professionals, which its rivals like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok have long offered.
Twitter for Professionals will be out this week
To be able to use a professional account users must not have a negative history of breaking rules, and they must be real with an account name, bio, and profile picture. That means parody accounts, pet accounts and unknown personas will not be eligible.
Not everyone has the ability to switch to a professional account yet. However, when it becomes available, users will be able to discover a Twitter for Professionals tab by swiping the sidebar on the app’s Home timeline. The “Switch to Professional” option will also be available under the profile settings menu. Then, users can choose the most precise category and one of two account types: a business or a creator. After switching to a professional account, you will be able to use special modules to customize your account.
If you don’t want to use your account for business purposes you can always go back. Just click on edit profile > edit professional profile > switch account type. You may also change between business and creative accounts at any time. You may only convert an existing personal Twitter account to a professional one, according to the company’s FAQ.
