Thanks to a feature introduced by Facebook called Cross-App Chats, users will be able to link their Messenger and Instagram groups. The company has been trying to offer new multi-platform options for its social media applications.
Cross-App Chats: Messenger and Instagram groups will be unified
Facebook has just announced that, as part of a move to unify its messaging apps that began last year, Messenger groups can now include Instagram contacts and vice versa. This isn’t the only feature the company is preparing for its messaging application. Also, there will be Group Typing Indicators that show when multiple people are typing something.
Both apps will offer new chat themes, polls and more
Instagram users will be able to customize their conversations with new chat themes and watch exclusive content featuring Cardi B, Steve Aoki and Travis Barker.
For some time, Facebook has attempted to establish some order in its messaging services, particularly Messenger and Instagram. Last year the company gave users the ability to link their accounts. This way, some Messenger features have reached Instagram direct messages.
