The president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, has given another sneak peek into his country’s volcano-powered Bitcoin project, which is still in the early stages of development. In the video shared by Bukele, we are able to see a geothermal energy facility and some cargo trucks. Then, we skip to a point where we actually see mining rigs.

El Salvador doesn’t want to miss the opportunity, the huge amount of energy produced by its volcanoes will contribute to their nation to mine cryptocurrencies. Bukele has given a sneak peek about the project back in June using his Twitter account.

During a Twitter Spaces discussion, the concept was initially advanced to the president. On Sept. 7, El Salvador’s monetary authority, Banco de la República (BanRep), designated Bitcoin as a legal currency.
