Elon Musk isn’t pleased with Jeff Bezos’ attempts to halt SpaceX’s initiatives, and he posted a statement for the Amazon founder during the 2021 Code Conference on Tuesday.: “You cannot sue your way to the Moon, no matter how good your lawyers are.”

Musk opened up to journalists on the subject. He talked about Bezos’ space company. Blue Origin has sued to halt a contract NASA gave SpaceX to design a lunar lander. The Federal Communications Commission has also been involved in disputes with SpaceX over its Starlink internet satellites after Bezos took legal action.

Musk didn’t say he talked directly to Bezos when asked about the dialogue between them. “Not verbally, just… subtweets,” he explained. In August Musk tweeted on the subject:

Elon Musk was far from kind to his billionaire space race rival. Journalists asked Musk about the suborbital flights that Bezos and Branson had taken with their own businesses, and he said: “Thought it was cool that they’re spending money on the advancement of space.”
