Twitter now allows Bitcoin tips and is working to adopt NFTs to its social media platform. According to Twitter’s CEO, Jack Dorsey, bitcoin will have “a significant role” in the company’s future. Because Twitter is now accepting bitcoin tips, that future begins right now.

Following the launch of its “Tip Jar” function in May, the company has announced that it will start allowing users to send money via bitcoin.

The functionality is already available for iOS users, and it will be made available to Android users shortly.

Thanks to the tipping system that allows anybody to send money with bitcoins to another person, bitcoin is becoming an important element of Twitter. The Lightning Network is utilized to make instant payments possible through the service called Strike, a wallet that connects to the Lightning network and uses it to speed up transactions.

Users will be able to use their existing bitcoin wallets to send and receive these tips, with no fee applied by Twitter.

According to Twitter, they’re testing a function that will allow users to authenticate and present their NFT digital asset collections on the site.

This could turn Twitter into another platform for displaying and buying and selling NFTs that would compete with others such as OpenSea or MITO. Despite the fact that the leaders of this firm did not provide many specifics about the project, they did state that it is another method to assist digital artists.
