Facebook’s new features will allow the company to better customize consumer shopping experiences and continue to develop as a leader in digital marketing. Karandeep Anand, Facebook’s vice president of enterprise products, said the additions would assist the social networking site in delivering personalized purchasing experiences to its customers.
Facebook rolls out new messaging and business tools
Facebook Inc. is expanding its customer-contact capabilities, the company announced Thursday, as it attempts to become an online shopping destination.
The new features will help Facebook, already a leader in digital advertising, deliver personalized shopping experiences to its users, said Karandeep Anand, Facebook’s vice president of enterprise products.
Businesses will now be able to add a button on their Instagram profiles so users can send a WhatsApp message to the business with a single click.
Customers in countries like India and Brazil, where the Facebook-owned messaging app is popular, appreciate the WhatsApp integration, Anand added.
Facebook announced that it will start testing the ability for companies to send emails via Facebook Business Suite, a function that allows firms to manage their presence on the company’s apps, in order to simplify consumer contact.
It will also test new work accounts so employees can manage company pages without logging in with their accounts.
The new tools for companies are coming a day after WhatsApp debuted a new feature in São Paulo, Brazil, allowing customers to locate businesses and services through a directory within the app for the first time as part of an effort to promote e-commerce on the platform.
