Microsoft Teams continues to add features designed for users who need to adapt to a hybrid workspace model.

The Microsoft team announced some AI-powered features and more integrations to improve the dynamics of work meetings.

New Microsoft Teams features for virtual meetings

One of the features to be added to Microsoft Teams is called Cameo, and it aims to improve the dynamics of PowerPoint presentations. This feature will allow the presenter to choose how and where they want the slides to appear. This tool will be available from 2022.

On the other hand, a function that is AI-driven will be incorporated to assist speakers in writing their dissertation. The Speaker coach is a secret service that provides the speaker with a series of suggestions to help him/her better express himself/herself, for example, by teaching him/her how to regulate his/her speech speed.

In this manner, the speaker will be given more assistance in real time to help him improve his presentation. This functionality will also be available starting next year. And it won’t be the only AI-powered tool to assist with presentations in virtual meetings.

Teams will also have support for smart cameras to use AI for active speaker tracking and people recognition to identify meeting participants. And a final feature dedicated to improving business meetings has to do with “automatic lighting corrections” so that low-light indoor environments won’t be a problem when presenting on video.

Another benefit of the integration is that Microsoft Teams may enable group work meetings while we are in the vehicle, thanks to Apple Carplay’s connection. Of course, this function will not allow for video; only hands-free voice calls will be possible.
