Rapper Kanye West unveils a new portable speaker that differs from Google or Amazon products, Donda Stem Player will let fans customize any song. It is advertised as a tiny mixing desk thanks to its four integrated touch controls.
This electronic device could be released soon with West’s new album. With a USB port, Bluetooth connection and 8GB storage capacity, this device is no different from the classic portable speakers that are usually carried in a backpack. However, the Yeezy Tech brand together with Kanye West has created a device different from the rest of the options in this market.
Kanye West launches Donda Stem Player: Customize any song
At the top of this disc-shaped gadget, there are four light bars for control purposes. As advertised, the Donda Stem Player allows you to add effects, split any song, isolate parts, control speed and create loops. The resulting mix can be saved and shared with friends. Some videos shared on social networks give some more perspective to this idea.
In the minimalist website created to sell the speaker only a gif is shown. The material that covers the device is described as a “soft silicone blended skin”. In addition, it supports a wide range of music formats: .AIFF, .AIF, .FLAC, .M4A, .MP3, .WAV, .WAVE, .AAC, .ALAC and .MP4. Content can be updated and changed via the computer.
Kanye West’s Donda Stem Player will be sold for $200, but we still don’t know when it will be available for purchase. West’s album is announced for August 29 on iTunes. The singer, who has requested to change his name to Ye, already has several concerts planned as promotion for the album.
