Except for the announcement that last-generation Xbox games will be playable on previous Microsoft consoles thanks to the cloud, Microsoft’s presentation of titles at GamesCom didn’t bring much news. But enough to get us excited about a few big titles. These are some of the most outstanding trailers among those presented.
Dying Light 2 – Stay Human
This title takes place twenty years after the first game, with a world much more devastated by zombies. The team has presented a game that has emphasized the verticality of the scenarios and the new parkour movements, which reformulate the combat against the dead and offer new ways of exploration. All this on December 7.
Microsoft Flight Simulator
Of all the announcements (such as the expansion that will include Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) brought by Microsoft’s flight simulator, which is sweeping its way onto consoles for the first time in its history, perhaps what will interest arcade thrill-seekers most is the autumn expansion of Reno Races. Ultra-fast races based on real flight championships and will include, of course, multiplayer. Who said that ‘Microsoft Flight Simulator’ was too relaxing?
Into the Pit
Pure old-school action with a game that looks like one of those exploits of ‘DOOM’ that made us so happy in the heroic times of a couple of decades ago, but adapted to the new times. Pentagrams, metal, and demos. We’re really into it.
Stray Blade
Exploration of mysterious civilizations and melee combat with the accent on the reactions calculated to the millimeter for a new game of careful aesthetics and mechanics, with role-playing touches and an intriguing starting point. The protagonist dies in this newly discovered land but is resurrected again and again.
Crusader Kings III
A real surprise: the strategy title that allows us to become king of England will come to Xbox (and Playstation) in a version completely adapted to the pad. It is not a port, but a reformulation of controls and mechanics so that console players can enjoy it, a year after its arrival on PC.
The Gunk
The creators of ‘Steamworld’ have presented the first images of this game: pure space atmosphere and visual inventiveness. It is a title that looks sophisticated and full of images to remember, and from a small studio that we know takes the utmost care of their proposals.
