Today we’ve learned that Microsoft is launching a new wired Xbox stereo headset. When we think about PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series the focus is generally on their gaming performance and graphics but we must not forget that sound is also an important part of the gaming experience.

Game soundtracks in many cases are a remarkable element, and sound effects are often a key element of the gaming experience. Thus, it is perfectly understandable that console manufacturers also put a lot of care into the design of their own headsets.

Microsoft presents a new wired stereo headset for Xbox

The company already has a wireless headset for its gaming console and, even though they are a great option for most gamers, there are many others who, for various reasons, have a preference for wired models.

Aware of this demand, Microsoft has just introduced this new stereo headset. The Xbox stereo headset comes with a padded headband, which distributes the pressure more evenly. This way longer gaming sessions do not end up with discomfort.

In terms of sound quality, Xbox stereo headsets are compatible with high-fidelity spatial sound technologies such as Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos and DTS Headphone. As you might have guessed, they plug directly into the Xbox controller’s mini-jack connector. In addition, their universal connector allows them to be used on other devices as well. The Xbox stereo headset will be sold for $59.99 and it will be available from September 16.
