Tinder is bringing its identity verification feature to all users.
This feature that was activated in 2019 in Japan will be available globally. As mentioned by the Tinder team, this dynamic will bring extra security to the dating app.
Tinder’s identity verification will be available to all users
Tinder users around the world will have the possibility to activate identity verification. Security plus that adds to Tinder’s features to assure users that they are interacting with real people.
For the moment, this function will be voluntary, so it will be up to each user to use this option or not. However, once it is implemented, it will surely be one of the details they will value before interacting with a certain user.
We hope that all our members around the world will see the benefits of interacting with people who have gone through our identity verification process. We look forward to the day when as many people as possible will be verified on Tinder.
Verification will be free and will work in the same way as photo verification. However, each of the verifications will have a different badge.
They do not mention the type of documentation that will be requested to perform the verification, as it may vary from country to country, but it will include some document that confirms the person’s identity, such as ID, license, passport, etc.
This identity verification feature will be rolled out in the coming quarters, according to the information shared by the Tinder team. And on the other hand, they have also mentioned that they are in the process of “testing and learning” about the implementation of this function, so it is possible that the dynamics will change as it is extended to everyone.
