WhatsApp starts rolling out the ability to send disappearing photos and videos between users on Android and you can do so.
WhatsApp is the instant messaging application par excellence worldwide. One of the functions that were announced was coming soon to the app was the ability to send photos and videos that disappear, something that could be seen in its beta at the end of June.
Finally, this feature is now launched for all WhatsApp users on Android. It is now possible to send photos and videos that disappear in your chats. Inspired by other apps, it is possible to send a photo or video that self-destructs after a while.
How to send photos that disappear on WhatsApp?
This new feature will be rolling out progressively for all WhatsApp users on Android these coming days, but it is already available to many. Thanks to it these photos or videos you send will self-destruct when the other person in that chat has seen them. This feature allows the user to go to see that photo once only before it is destroyed. The steps to do this are:
- Open WhatsApp on your Android phone.
- Enter the chat where you want to send that photo.
- Click on the camera icon.
- Select the photo you want to send or take a photo at that moment.
- Click on the 1 icon on the right.
- Send the photo or video.
That new button that says 1 is where we are shown a notice that indicates that the photo or video that we are sending has been configured so that it can be viewed only once. This means that the person in question who receives it will see a message with that 1 in WhatsApp and the word Photo. You will be able to click for that photo to open in full screen then.
No time limits are set for viewing the photo and it is possible to take screenshots of the photo at all times. Although when you close that photo, you will not be able to view it ever again. In addition, you are not allowed to forward it to other people either. The person who receives it also has 14 days to view that photo or video in the application.
