Xiaomi’s growth in Europe continues unstoppable. Lei Jun’s company has positioned itself in the second quarter of 2021 as the company that has sold the most cell phones in the old continent.

Xiaomi is in a particularly sweet position in some countries with a strategy that aligns perfectly with the needs of consumers in our country. Not in vain Xiaomi sells one out of every three mobiles here.

But it is not only in this market. At the European level the company is doing so well that, according to the latest report from Strategy Analytics, the Chinese firm has surpassed Samsung in sales for the first time in Europe.

Xiaomi is the top-selling smartphone brand in Europe

The second quarter of 2021, the one from April to June, is the latest analyzed by the consultancies, and it is the first in which Xiaomi has sold more phones than Samsung.

As can be seen in the image, Xiaomi has taken 25.3% of the market share on the continent, selling some 12.7 million devices. This represents a 67.1% growth since last year, an incredible leap.

Samsung, meanwhile, is in second place with similar sales of about 12 million units. Its market share is 24%, but the problem is growth. The Korean company is down 7% from what it sold in the second quarter of last year.

OPPO and Realme are growing in a big way

We should not lose sight of the growth of OPPO and Realme, two firms in the same group that have climbed to fourth and fifth place in this quarter.

But what is most striking is their growth, 180% in the case of OPPO and 1800% in the case of Realme, which started from very low figures.

Apple remains between the two groups of manufacturers, with figures that improve on those of 2020, reaching a market share of almost 20%.
