YouTube is adding several new features for those who use the platform for game streaming.
New features that streamers have long enjoyed on Twitch open up several possibilities to interact live with their subscribers.
New YouTube features for game streaming
One of the new features coming to streamers is that they will have the ability to enable chat for subscribers only. So if you want to have more control over the chat or give a plus to your subscribers, you will be able to enable this feature during live streams and premieres.
And there is an extra option in this feature to set the length of subscription that users must have to participate in the live chat. When this happens, the rest of the audience will see a notification that the chat is enabled, and how much time must pass before they too can participate.
Of course, this period can be changed as many times as you want, so you can set some exceptions or test which option is more convenient. On the other hand, streamers will also be able to count on live polls.
That is to say, while you are in the transmission you will be able to create polls to request the users’ option in real-time. And you will be able to end the poll at any time to show the results in the chat.
The idea is that it is a tool to interact with the audience while the broadcast is in progress, so it is only possible to add 2 to 4 options. And of course, it will only be visible during the live broadcast, so it will not be available in the replay of the broadcast.
And one last feature added to YouTube is the possibility for your followers to create clips of their videos or broadcasts. That is, they can select a segment of the video and share it with their friends. One detail to keep in mind is that this option is only available to game creators with 1000 or more subscribers.
