If the draft that the Unicode Consortium has elaborated for this year’s Emoji is confirmed, these are some of the new emojis that could come to the iPhone. The new emojis include different objects, such as a slide, lotus flower, troll or float, several hand gestures, and six new expressions.
New emojis will come to the iPhone this year
In Emojipedia, the draft of version 14.0 of the Emoji keyboard has been prepared by the Unicode Consortium. This draft still has to be approved, but we do not expect big changes. There are a total of 100 new emojis for the iPhone, although we should take the different skin tone variants into account. Besides them, 40 new options will be added, as we can see in the image below.
The final decision will be made in September 2021. We can expect to see the final list with the arrival of the iOS 15.1 update. This announcement, as every year, happens today, just a day before World Emoji Day, which takes place tomorrow, July 17.
