Honor prepares to leap to foldable phones
According to Asian sources, as we read in GSMarena, Honor is preparing to leap to foldable phones. According to Digital Chat Station, a fairly reliable source of Chinese leaks, Honor is in talks with BOE, one of the leading panel distributors in the market, for panels for its new foldable device.
Honor’s foldable will have two panels, according to leaks. Folded it will be 6 inches diagonal, a figure that rises to 8 inches with the phone unfolded.
It is expected to feature an 8-inch main panel and a 6.5-inch secondary panel. In this case, we do not find three different diagonals, as in the case of the Mate XS, so everything points to find a folding more in the style of the Samsung Galaxy Fold.
The name of the phone, according to The Elec, will be Honor Magic Fold, a phone that will include an ultra-thin glass of the last generation (UTC, ultra-thin glass), at the hands of the aforementioned BOE. There is, for the moment, no expected date for the launch of this phone, but everything points to 2021 being the year in which Honor will jump into the foldable world.
