The Elgato Facecam webcam achieves a resolution of 1080p at 60 fps and is accompanied by very complete software where you can configure all the parameters.

From being forgotten in a drawer for years to practically crowning the desktops of millions of users around the world. The resurgence of webcams has been associated with a couple of very important world phenomena with special incidences in some countries such as the pandemic and gamers.

One of the brands specializing in everything related to peripherals is Elgato, which has a very interesting menu of products focused on the audience of content creators. And today they are launching the Facecam webcam, one that focuses on image quality as the cornerstone of any camera.

Elgato Facecam specs and features

Elgato’s Facecam features a 24-millimeter f/2.4 lens with a SONY sensor. It is accompanied by an advanced image engine that manages to capture video natively and send it to the computer without compression at a resolution of 1080p with 60 frames per second. These are practically standard specifications for making content or broadcasting it on Twitch or any platform directly.

It connects to the computer via a high-capacity, low-latency USB 3.0 port and its field of view reaches 82 degrees. One of the particularities of the Facecam is that it has fixed focus, to ensure that the creator is always in focus and avoid unwanted blurring. According to the brand, the focus is perfect from 30 to 120 centimeters away.

In addition, it comes with computer software where you can configure all the camera’s parameters to your liking. You can adjust the field of view (zoom in and out), exposure, and white balance. The program, available for both Windows and Mac, is the perfect hub for adjusting camera settings in real-time while you are in the middle of a video call, recording, or broadcasting.

The Elgato Facecam is launched today and also goes on sale for $200. A webcam that leaves out some features that for other users are elementary as the availability of a microphone. Although from the brand point out that very few end up using it and professionals opt for external microphones of much higher quality.

“We have focused on image quality,” said the company. On paper, and taking into account the specifications, it will certainly give something to talk about in the gamer sector.
