Today we’ve learned that Apple is preparing a MagSafe battery back for the iPhone 12. It is an accessory designed to increase the battery life of the latest series of Apple smartphones when we do not have access to power outlets.

Apple MagSafe Battery Pack specs

iPhones have historically offered better autonomy over Android devices. Apple has opted for better-optimized processors instead of using batteries with larger capacity. But with the latest technologies, Android devices seem to be offering better autonomy. Now, Apple makes a move to improve its devices.

But, like any mobile device, iPhones eventually need to be recharged and this battery is ideal if you don’t have a power outlet close to you.

“Its compact, intuitive design makes on-the-go charging easy. The perfectly aligned magnets keep it attached to your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro — providing safe and reliable wireless charging. And it automatically charges, so there’s no need to turn it on or off. There’s no interference with your credit cards or key fobs either,” Apple says.

The MagSafe battery can be recharged even faster if you combine it with a 27W or higher charger, such as the one included with the MacBook. And if you need a wireless charger, just plug in the Lightning cable and you’ll have wireless charging at 15W at hand. Charging status can be monitored from the lock screen.

Apple MagSafe Battery Pack release date and price

The MagSafe battery is compatible with iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, and is already available on Apple’s web portal and physical stores for $99.
