TikTok’s latest addition has nothing to do with dancing to some nonsensical trend. The short video app wants to help its users find jobs.

TikTok is a trendy social network, it has millions of users and its content permeates other applications such as Twitter or Instagram. The latter has admitted that it will start including functions and features to get closer to TikTok.

And, is that TikTok is the talk of the world, and after overcoming the bumps that put the U.S. government is now opening its horizons greatly. The latest we know is that it has created a function to help its users find jobs.

Yes, a functionality that seems to be taken from Linkedln and not from TikTok. The name they have given it is “TikTok Resumes”. It is a program created to help expand the application’s reach and, at the same time, get users who need to find jobs to do so.

Since TikTok is a social network of short videos, we could understand that it is a kind of portfolio in which to show everything that each user can do. But it can also be approached from a closer point of view and users are free to upload videos in which they expose reasons to be hired.

To organize all these videos TikTok has created a hashtag, #TikTokResumes. The idea is that companies that have an account on the social network will review the videos grouped under this hashtag, as they will be able to find someone who fits them for a position they have open.

This feature is already available worldwide, although in the United States TikTok itself has managed to get companies such as Chipotle, Target, WWE, Alo Yoga, Shopify, Contra, and Movers+Shakers to be part of the initiative.

By launching globally any company will be able to review these types of videos, but it always makes sense to have a handful of companies that are willing to be part of the project from the beginning and openly.

Now the only thing left is to wait and see how this initiative by TikTok develops, it would be interesting that in a year from now they show data and form a statistic about the people who have managed to find a job through the use of its new functionality.
