TikTok is venturing into a new area: resumes. Yes, it is conducting a pilot test that gives U.S. users the ability to create a video resume using the platform’s features.
It aspires to be a recruiting platform where career opportunities arise for users. So all they have to do is search for job openings on the platform and create their video CV to post on TikTok or send it directly to the company profile.
TikTok Resumes aims to help people find jobs
This pilot program called Tiktok Resumes aims to extend the opportunities that the platform can provide to users, being a means for them to present their CVs to company recruiters. At the moment, this new initiative is only being tested in the United States in partnership with companies such as Shopify, Contra, Movers+Shakers, WWE, Alo Yoga, Chipotle, and Target.
So users can use TikTok’s short video format, as well as all of its features and effects, to create a CV that will impress the company they want to apply with on the platform. They just need to create this video CV and use the hashtag #TikTokResumes in the title. Some examples of these CVs can be found at this link.
U.S. users who wish to participate with these CV videos have until July 31 to apply for some of the jobs posted. And this initiative is complemented by the work that different users are doing from their accounts to give professional tips for those who are looking for a job, want to improve their CV, prepare for an interview, etc.
You will find, for example, accounts such as consulting, career babe, goharsguide, among others. So even countries that do not have this feature enabled, can take advantage of these tips and create their videos to showcase their professional skills.
