Today we’ve learned that the Chinese tech giant, Xiaomi will offer 2GB Virtual RAM expansion for those who have Redmi Note 10 Pro. Virtual RAM is starting to spread across Android devices. Vivo and OPPO were the first to release this technology. It is allowing smartphones to exceed the physical limits imposed by the RAM modules themselves.
Virtual RAM comes to Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G
RAM (Random Access Memory) refers to that memory in which data from running applications and system services are temporarily stored. Android (and especially MIUI) is an operating system that demands quite a lot of RAM, due to its nature of letting multiple apps and services run in the background.
This RAM, unlike on PCs, cannot be physically expanded, so we are limited to the RAM capacity that the phone has. Virtual RAM comes to use virtualized internal storage like RAM. In other words, a Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G with 8GB RAM becomes a phone with 10GB RAM capacity.
Clarify that this extra RAM will not work at the same performance level as a physical module, but it is always good to have some extra power.
