The first day of Google I/O 2021 brought us a lot of news -like the first beta of Android 12- including the reveal of a foldable Google Pixel.

Google Pixel 5a 5G will arrive in the middle of the year, but Google Pixel 6 and the foldable model are expected for the fall. Analysts have discovered that the Android 12 beta is hiding the names and model numbers of the future smartphones of the tech giant.

A foldable Google Pixel is on the way

According to this information, the first beta of the new version of Android lists the model numbers for Japan and the codenames of the future models:

  • G4S1M- “Barbet”- Pixel 5a 5G
  • GR1YH- “Oriole”- Pixel 6 series
  • GF5KQ- “Raven”- Pixel 6 series
  • GPQ72- “Passport”- Pixel foldable

Google already confirmed in 2019 that it was working to bring its first foldable model to market.

If we look at the codename of this foldable smartphone, “Passport”, we could be looking at a model with a similar design to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, something that is also supported by a series of recent leaks that suggested that the Korean manufacturer was making foldable displays for Google.
