A Huawei executive has finally confirmed when they will launch Harmony OS on the brand’s phones and the wait is shorter than expected.
Last September Harmony OS 2.0 was officially presented, the new version of Huawei’s operating system, which will soon be available for Huawei’s cell phones, also in some countries. The time of its launch is getting closer, also now that we have been able to see the first video showing its interface.
It was already mentioned months ago that it would be in 2021 when the first Huawei phones would use Harmony OS as its operating system. Now we know when we can expect the launch of this system on the brand’s phones.
Harmony OS will arrive in June to Huawei mobiles
Wang Chenglu, president of the software department and head of Huawei’s AI business has confirmed when we can expect the launch of Harmony OS on the firm’s cell phones. We will not have to wait too long, because it will be in early June when it will be officially launched.
The dates have finally been given, although at the moment it is not known which phones within the brand’s catalog will have access to this update. Surely its most recent foldable, the Mate X2, will be the first. In addition, it is expected that phones with EMUI 11 will have access to this update as well.
Throughout the summer Huawei would launch the update to Harmony OS for more phones, as well as previous Honor models on sale from the firm. The brand plans to move all its phones to this new operating system before the end of the year. The update will be launched in several phases.
In addition, a video has already been leaked where this operating system is compared to EMUI 11, currently present in many Huawei models. It is expected that Harmony OS will provide a smoother user experience on phones of the Chinese brand. If all goes well, in just over a month we will be able to check if such an experience is better.
