Telegram has been working on video calling for a while now and it looks like it will finally arrive by next month.
Telegram will finally launch video calls this month. As far as we know, the blue icon chat app will launch its solution to be a real alternative to Zoom.
There is not a few news that over the years have been offering some light on the possibility of this chat app having video calls. Especially when they finally came to WhatsApp and many expected the same thing to happen in Durov’s app.
But it seems that the strategy, due to the delays in launching this feature, is to go straight for solutions such as Zoom or Google Teams. In other words, if you are late, at least come up with something that attracts a lot of attention.
Some of the unique features of Telegram video calls, as quoted by Telegram founder Pavel Durov, will be end-to-end encrypted video and even background noise cancellation, screen sharing, and other features.
The Telegram founder also reported that video calls will arrive at the same time in both the mobile and desktop versions. In other words, it will not be short on features and will be launched with everything necessary to generate a great video call experience.
At a time when most of the population was forced to use this type of technology, not having video calls is counterproductive, especially if you want to gain market share from other apps like WhatsApp.
Telegram itself took advantage of the WhatsApp crisis to pick up millions of users who have sought other opportunities due to the lack of tact of the app owned by Mark Zuckerberg.
