Cryptocurrency mining is one of the reasons why there is a shortage of gaming GPUs on the market right now, Bitmain Antminer E9 Ethereum miner aims to solve this problem and this device has power equivalent to 32 NVIDIA RTX 3080s.

Due to the boom in cryptocurrencies GPU prices have skyrocketed and the pandemic has caused some extra supply shortages.

Cryptocurrency mining is one of the factors responsible for the shortage of gaming GPUs now on the market. Are ASIC miners the solution?

Bitmain Antminer E9 Ethereum miner specs and price

Bitmain Antminer E9 Ethereum miner has power equivalent to 32 NVIDIA RTX 3080s
It allows you to earn $236 a day.

Bitmain claims that Antminer E9 delivers 3 GH/sg, which is the hardware performance measurement unit for mining cryptocurrencies. In comparison, an RTX 3080 card reaches 95 MH/sg, and an RTX 3090 reaches 120 MH/sg. So it is also equivalent to 25 RTX 3090 cards.

Its power consumption is sky-high: 2,556W. It is still below the 3,000W of other less powerful ASIC miners.

It allows you to earn $236 a day with Ethereum at the price of electricity in the United States (0.13 cents per kWh).

It should be noted that it only mines Ethereum, which is the cryptocurrency in vogue at the moment, as Bitcoin is already unprofitable when it comes to mining.

Bitmain has not yet revealed the price, but it is estimated to have a price between $20,000 and $30,000. Not cheap, but it still costs less than 32 RTX 3080 or 25 RTX 3090 graphics cards. This device also consumes less power.

If we assume its price as $25,000, it means that its cost would be amortized in about three and a half months, considering the aforementioned $236/day profit measurement.
